Christmas Dessert Bar with Wayfair {sponsored}

If I had to pick only two things that I could decorate with for Christmas it would be fabulous mini trees (especially the silver mercury glass variety) and high quality and heavy weight Christmas ornaments. When Wayfair asked me to partner with them to create a gorgeous window display I knew exactly what I wanted to do: a couple of mercury glass trees with some feather trees. I’d had my eyes on feather trees a couple of years ago and then found these gorgeous glitter tipped ones at Wayfair and knew they would be the little something different for the backdrop to this dessert bar.

AJ and I are hosting our Christmas party on December 9 and I am trying to get things in place now for the party. I wanted to create a dessert bar for the party in the living room to spread out the food. Initially I wanted this on the ledge of the window in the living room and then my idea kept getting bigger and bigger so I brought over our console table to give some extra space.

Here’s how to create a set up like this one:

  1. Add some height. I put a bowl I don’t use much under the fur blanket to make the middle feather tree taller.
  2. Add your trees (I got these feather trees and these trees).
  3. Layer in your dessert bowls or stands.
  4. Add in any extra accessories (like little houses or ornaments).

For our actual party I won’t be using a furry blanket (I’m picturing a giant mess) but it would look pretty without lots of messy treats… like caramels in wrappers… actually anything in wrappers would be great. Below is closer to how I’m going to set it up for our party so that anyone helping themselves to the food has a view of the tree… it’ll be at night so the view of the backyard would be all dark.
